"Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism, we are freed from sin and reborn as children of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word." ~ Catechism of the Catholic Church 1213

If there are any questions, please contact the Parish Office at (301) 769-3332 or [email protected].
Parents of children who are older than seven years of age are asked to coordinate with the Faith Formation Coordinator. Please reach out to Kimmie Gibson at [email protected].
For a person to act as a Godparent for Baptism, he or she must be at least sixteen years old, must have already received all the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Holy Eucharist, Confirmation), and must be living in a way that demonstrates that one's faith is strong enough to be able to fulfill the responsibilities involved with being a Godparent. A Godparent who is married must be married in accord with the laws of the Catholic Church. ~ cf. Code of Canon Law, can. 874
The pastor of the designated Godparent is normally responsible for determining that he or she understands the Godparent’s role and is qualified to assume it. The pastor, or his designate, is to provide a letter of eligibility for the designated Godparent when the Sacrament is to be celebrated in Holy Angels Church. If you are an adult who would like to be initiated into the Catholic Church, please see our page for Becoming Catholic page.
